Banana Ice Cream

Banana Ice Cream Recipe

Yes, it’s a thing…and it’s delicious…and easy…Banana Ice Cream🍨

Have you heard!?

You can make ice cream out of bananas.
Yep.
True.

How to make it:

  • Peel a banana.
  • Break it into chunks.
  • Throw chunks into a freezer-safe bag.
  • Freeze for 24 hours—This requires planning – a required step.

You are now ready to make ice cream.

  • Put your frozen banana into a food processor and run it for 3-4 minutes*.
  • Done. That’s the recipe. How simple is that!?
  • Go naked OR top it with whatever you choose (pictured is cacao nibs).

*NOTES: Trust us….it works!  The first few minutes, your processor will jump around and not want to do anything. But soon, the banana will break into chunks. Don’t worry when your blender gets a little stubborn.  In a minute or so, those big chunks will turn into flakes and the whole thing will simmer down. Leave it alone…it’s working – because in another minute, the whole pile of flakes will turn into a creamy ice cream.  No joke.  It’s brilliant. Easy and no added sugar or colors or any crap. It’s just a frozen banana that has turned itself into ice cream. How nice!

Optional add-ons:

  • Peanut butter or almond butter swirled in
  • Chopped nuts: walnuts, almonds, pistachios
  • Chocolate pieces or cacao nibs
  • Coconut flakes
  • Honey drizzle
