Fig Reduction Sauce

fig reduction

created by Nourish Coaches

This super simple recipe is ready in 5 minutes of hands-on work and 20 minutes of largely left unattended cooking time. The blend of balsamic and fig flavor is rich and presents beautifully.  It was a perfect appetizer for a gathering.

1 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup dried figs, finely chopped
Large organic goat cheese log
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted

  1. In a small sauce pan, heat balsamic vinegar over medium and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped figs and let simmer for another 10 minutes.
  4. Let cool slightly.
  5. Poor mixture over goat cheese.
  6. Sprinkle walnuts on top.

For those who like a little heat, add a few grinds of cracked black pepper or one to two drops of black pepper essential oil (we highly recommend using Young Living – we can hook you up).
