Podcast: An Expert Take on Perimenopause

It’s rarely spoken of even though 64 million women in the United States are age 49 or older. Two million women reach menopause every day.

In this interview with Laurie S. Jeffers, DNP FNP-BC, we discuss the time of women’s lives BEFORE menopause called perimenopause (literally “around menopause”). It’s often ignored by practitioners and the general population and we want to make it a regular conversation. This is not only for women to listen to–it’s for anyone who knows and loves women!

Dr. Jeffers is a clinical assistant professor at Rory Meyers College of Nursing at New York University. a specialist in women’s health for the last 20 years. She earned both her DNP and BSN at Duke University. Her doctoral research focused on a quality improvement project for midlife women experiencing menopausal symptoms.
